Oceanside, CA – Local surf academy Tasty Waves will be donating free surf lessons for active-duty servicemen and women this summer. Through their “Free To Shred” program they will be providing free lessons on June 25th from 9am-2pm. Head Coach for Tasty Waves, and long time friend of Camp Pendleton, Liz Motshagen said she is “eager to give back to the troops that she has worked closely with for years.”

Joining them will be Sigi Apodaca from CrossFit Black Diamond. Coach Apodaca is a former Recon Marine who served in Iraq. As a trainer he has dedicated his time to helping military servicemen and everyday people maintain fitness and a healthy lifestyle. He will be doing a free mobility and strength clinic at the “Free to Shred” event.

CrossFit Black Diamond is an Oceanside gym who’s primary membership consists of local military servicemen. They focus on proper technique and tailored coaching programs.

Tasty Waves Surf Academy offers surf lessons, camps, and private surf tours in Oceanside. Their team is comprised exclusively of former and current pro surfers with deep local knowledge. They coach everyone from young kids to competing pros.
